Visualization Techniques to Target Client Sense of Transcendent Self

Learning a powerful visualization technique to guide clients in relating to themselves and their challenges with greater psychological flexibility.

We will review the ACT process of flexible perspective taking and use the structure of I – Here- Now” to creatively explore a number of client enactments. This concept can provide an organizing structure for a number of methods related to inner child work, self compassion, and tapping into the clients own inner wisdom.

Be able to identify client processes targeted through inner child process enactments.

Be able to identify 6 core processes that are defined by the evidence base of ACT and describe how they may be targeted using visualization techniques
Be able to use the structure of “ I, Here, Now” to develop process enactments that target client sense of self.

Danielle Seybold, LMFT

Danielle trains in a wide range of modalities and is excited to share from the framework that has been the most supportive of her natural creativity and integration as a holistic therapist. Process Based Therapy, which is completely separate from but highly compatible with Process Therapy, is a structure that allows integration of any therapeutic model in targeting the specific ways in which individual clients are stuck. Danielle holds certification as a yoga teacher, meditation instructor, parent educator, and therapist trainer in TEAM-CBT. She has also been studying Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with a dedicated peer-support learning community, practicing and integrating training from the leaders in that modality, including Russ Harris, Steven Hayes, Robyn Walser, and Kelly Wilson. She has trained at PTI since 2014 and completed mirror training with both Don and Carol Hadlock. Before becoming a therapist she worked as a Biomedical Engineer. Today, she splits her time between private practice and serving as a biomedical engineering consultant to medical device companies that are seeking approval of new medical technologies with the FDA.

The Process Therapy Institute (CEPA Provider #050112) is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFT’s, LCSW’s, LPCC’s and/or LEP’s. PTI maintains responsibility for this conference and its content. All of the sessions meet the qualifications for the above given hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
