The Embodied Therapeutic Seat

In this in-depth experiential workshop, Yulia Abramova and Kari Prindle will invite connecting to the intelligence of the somatic body, tracking a variety of internal cues, and offering skills in staying present as a psychotherapist.

Learning objectives:
–Expand the psychotherapist’s capacity to track somatic cues
–Observe therapist’s transference, handles, and agendas
–Invite self-soothing therapist interventions

Yulia Abramova & Kari Prindl

Together, Yulia and Kari's combined experience as teachers and therapists exceed 40 years. Yulia, trained in Russia, has been a psychotherapist for over 10 years. She specializes in somatic work with people with C-PTSD. Yulia is currently employed by the Process Therapy Institute as a pre-licensed clinician while working on her California credentials. Kari, a senior teacher of the Alexander Technique, has been enhancing the lives of performance artists and people suffering from physical pain for over 30 years. Kari has completed her practicum hours in the Center for Somatic Psychotherapy.

The Process Therapy Institute (CEPA Provider #050112) is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFT’s, LCSW’s, LPCC’s and/or LEP’s. PTI maintains responsibility for this conference and its content. All of the sessions meet the qualifications for the above given hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Course completion certificates will be awarded at the end of the course in exchange for a completed evaluation form.
